Red Velvet member Irene and Park Bo Gum dating rumors have been making headlines recently, which have caught Irene by surprise. During a guest appearance on the Dec. 7 broadcast of MBC's "Radio Star," Irene explained that she had no idea such rumors had been popping out.
Irene was asked if she had any idea there have been rumors of her dating her "Music Bank" co-host Park Bo Gum. According to Soompi, Irene denied that there were any rumors, proving that she was completely unaware of their existence.
Nevertheless, Irene praised Park Bo Gum for being a gentleman and having good manners. She shared that "Reply 1988" actor is very well-manner and would help Irene walk down the stairs and that he would hold her hand if she was wearing high heels.
When asked about her ideal type of man, Irene simply said that she wanted someone who is warm-hearted, Koreaboo reported.
Park Bo Gum and Irene co-hosted KBS' "Music Bank" for over a year. Due to their chemistry, they quickly became the subjects of dating rumors. Onscreen, they appeared particularly close and comfortably interacted with one another as they co-hosted the music program. Previous statements coming from Park Bo Gum and Irene themselves fueled speculations that they were dating.
In an interview, Irene said he felt sad when she and Park Bo Gum were no longer co-hosts on "Music Bank." She also revealed that he made her heart flutter when he called her by her real name, Bae Joo Hyun, even though it was not written on the script.
As for Park Bo Gum, he once stated that his ideal woman is someone who is "comfortable like a friend but is as caring as a mother." Many fans believe that Irene somewhat possess the good qualities of a mother since she is the leader of the SM Entertainment girl group Red Velvet and is respected by the other members as the eldest in the group.
Park Bo Gum most recently appeared in the period drama series "Love in The Moonlight" with Kim Yoo Jung and Jinyoung.
