Lee Dong-Wook, 35, gets candid about being a father someday. The "Goblin" actor recently admitted that while he is certainly not ready for it yet, he is very much looking forward to starting a family of his own.
In an interview with KBS 2TV's "Entertainment Weekly" on Dec. 10, Saturday, the Hallyu star revealed how many children he would like to have in the future. Lee stated he just want at least three children and that it does not make a difference whether they are all girls or boys.
The "Bubble Gum" star also talked about eyeing another goal, revealing that he hopes to host his own television talk show one day. He added that he would ask comedian Shin Dong-Yeob to be the first guest because he was the first person who really mentors him on variety shows.
Lee, who became a household name after playing Seol Gong-Chan in 2005's "My Girl," is currently captivating viewers in tvN's on-going fantasy drama "Goblin." He plays a handsome amnesiac grim reaper, Wang Yeo, who ends up living with an immortal goblin and protector of souls, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo).
The tvN drama has received a positive response from viewers at home and abroad. Its steady increment in viewership ratings is attributed to the show's unique theme, as well as Gong and Kim Go-Eun's undeniable chemistry on-screen.
"Goblin," also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," kicked off its run on Dec. 02 with an average audience share of 7.54 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. It also topped the Contents Power Index (CPI) for the first week of December, beating SBS' "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and MBC's "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo."
In a statement obtained by Sports Donga, producer Yoon Ha-Rim of Hwa and Dam Pictures said they were preparing to make the tvN drama for three years even before "Descendants of the Sun" was made. Hence, he is confident that the series will be another kind of drama for the viewers across the globe.
"We have been preparing to make this drama for three years," producer Yoon said. "The focus of the drama will be on goblins, which is a very common character in traditional folktales, but has not been the main topic for dramas yet."
