NXT started as a developmental system for aspiring wrestlers but it has evolved into a brand for the WWE. According to former NXT star Baron Corbin, Triple H is the reason why the show is great and it became a touring brand for the company.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Corbin was asked what makes NXT so great. He immediately gave a quick answer and pointed out Triple H. He praised The Game for raising the level of the developmental brand by giving them the tools to succeed.
The 32-year-old former football player spent four years in NXT before getting called up to the main roster earlier this year. He had to wait for his time to shine but he proved that hard work can get you wherever you want.
Corbin underwent several character changes and even worked as an enhancement talent. It took him two years to really find the right gimmick to use on television. He became "The Lone Wolf" and he had feuds with several superstars like Bull Dempsey, Rhyno, Samoa Joe, Apollo Crews and Austin Aries.
The Kansas native made his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32. He entered the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and won. He became the third winner in the match's history following Cesaro and The Big Show.
On the other hand, Triple H was given the reigns of NXT back in 2012 and turned into a new brand of the WWE. They have put together a long list of great matches and stories that make the main roster envious.
As for Corbin, he has the potential to be WWE world champion. He has the look and built that Vince McMahon loves in a wrestler. According to Cageside Seats, Corbin is getting a big push at the first half of 2017.
The report noted that Corbin is going to be part of the WWE world title picture. It is not a surprise since top officials are high on him. He just finished his feud with Kalisto which makes his next feud more intriguing.
Will the WWE gave him better competition or will they just book him the same way as before? Nevertheless, the company is in good hands with former NXT talents like Corbin ready to take over the WWE.
