New details for "Overwatch" will feature updated report system, leaver compensation, scoreboard and spectator mode next year.
Blizzard Entertainment announced several new updates for "Overwatch" this month and for next year as game director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that the developers are working on a solution to help players against trolling in game matches.
Kaplan posted the Blizzard forum website that a new reporting system will be implemented in order to address issues on players trolling around "Overwatch". At the moment, the team is reviewing the current reporting system and already have a number of design changes in the works that could help alleviate the problem.
The game director added that once the reporting system has been updated, the development team will then move onto an internal review of all of Overwatch‘s policies, including punishments and bans, though no implementation date for all these changes have been revealed yet.
Blizzard have previously indirectly addressed the issue of toxic players in lighthearted ways, but these upcoming changes to "Overwatch‘s" reporting system is perhaps the most significant effort aimed solely on addressing toxic players and trolls.
While most players will be pleased to hear that the development team are working on the troll issue, there will be a few exceptions who will not be too happy about this news, particularly the cheaters who want to sue the company over bans in "Overwatch".
Meanwhile, it seems that Blizzard will have more changes for "Overwatch" sometime in 2017 as gamers requested for update feaures within the game.
These features include Reporting confirmation, Scoreboard, Dedicated Spectator Mode, Leaver compensation and Replay/Match history, GameRevolution reported.
Previous reports revealed that he official "Overwatch" Twitter page tweeted that the launching of the game's "Christmas" event will happen on Dec. 13.
The "Christmas" event in "Overwatch" was first discovered by Reddit username Venxa as clues as several audios from the game were found with numerous character interaction and a jingle or song pertaining to the holidays. NeoGaf username Nirolak stated that the aforementioned jingle could refer to an upcoming holiday-themed event for "Overwatch". Blizzard Entertainment will likely set to introduce the new event similar to the Summer Games and Halloween events few months back. Players may be introduced to items specifically designed for the Christmas season.
There is also a new game mode called "Arena Mode" as Athena announcement lines have also been leaked online. These include" Now entering the arena" as well as the "Gladiator". Moreover, a loading sound clip has also been revealed.
It is unknown what kind of gameplay will "Arena Mode" will have but it will likely be a gladiator type match were in everyone will fight each other.
