"The Flash" Season 3 introduced a bunch of new characters in the first half of the season, including Tom Felton's Julian Dorne and Keiynan Lonsdale's Kid Flash - not to mention the super massive superhero crossover on The CW that brought in the Dominators. In the coming episodes, "The Flash" Season 3 is going to introduce another new character.
Actor Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco in the series, reveals that Gypsy, a.k.a Cindy Reynolds, will make her debut in the future episodes of "The Flash." The character will play a big role in Cisco's development as Vibe.
"She's gonna be coming into our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her," Cinema Blend quoted Valdes as saying.
In the comic books, Gypsy first appeared in "Justice League of America Annual #2." Much like Vibe, she has precognitive abilities and can project her consciousness outside of her body. Her powerset also includes illusion casting, which basically allows her to make anyone see what she wants them to see. This makes her valuable and dangerous to a certain extent. She can also camouflage herself, other people and inanimate objects.
It is likely that "The Flash" Season 3 will follow the "New 52" storyline to bring in Gypsy, who is a refuge from another Earth. She seeks sanctuary on Earth-1 after she is chased by Vibe's brother, Rupture, on her Earth, Movie Pilot reported.
Interestingly, it is speculated that Gypsy will play an important role as Cisco develops and learns to harness his vibing powers in depth. Plus, with her connection to Rupture from her Earth, Gypsy may also play a role in Cisco's emotional journey, especially since he is still at the point where he's troubled by his brother's death following the events of "Flashpoint."
It was not revealed when Gypsy would debut on "The Flash" Season 3, but the character was spotted when the show filmed in downtown Vancouver early in December. In the photo, she is joined by Kid Flash, Vibe and The Flash.
"The Flash" Season 3 will return on The CW on Jan. 24, 2017.
