Like in any "Final Fantasy" game, the large yellow birds called Chocobos are back in the latest "Final Fantasy XV." Players can interact with them better in this video game, but they cannot gain access to them at the start. Here are the steps on how to unlock the feature in the video game.
1. Find the chocobo post
According to Shack News, the first thing players need to find is the Chocobo post in the video game. Although players can find the Rent-A-Bird terminals in each town, they cannot rent from them at the start. They will not be able to do so until they complete Chapter 2: No Turning back and pass through the Norduscean Blockade into Duscae.
After the beginning of Chapter 3: The Open World, Prompto will suddenly say that he wants to ride a Chocobo and will ask Noctis about it. When he agrees, it will start the Friends of a Feather side quest, which will point the player towards the Wiz Chocobo Outpost. When they arrive at the outpost, they will be told that they cannot ride the Chocobos due to a Behemoth in the area.
Get the hunt posting for the Behemoth to start hunting Deadeye. After talking to Wiz, it will start the A Behemoth Undertaking sidequest. Activate the waypoint for the quest and it will point to the monster.
2. Preparing and dealing with Deadeye
Players should be prepared first before taking on Deadeye the Behemoth by stocking up a lot of healing items and preparing to learn more about fire magic. After getting through some enemies along the way, they will get into several sequences involving the Behemoth and several small mobs.
To gain advantage against Deadeye, the players will need to prepare their fire magic since this is their best bet against it. When they get in its lair, they will see a lot of barrels of oil scattered throughout the area. Wait close with those barrels and hit them with the Fire spell and after a few attacks, it will get killed.
3. Unlock the chocobo rental
After killing Deadeye, the players will need to go back to the Wiz Chocobo Outpost. Turn in the quest for the reward and it will unlock the feature to rent the chocobos for 50 Gil a day.
According to the official website of FFXV Guide, players can play several minigames with the Chocobos inside the outpost. These games include Chocobo racing with other characters, time trials, and many more. The Chocobos can also be dyed with seeds and fruits that can be found in the forests all over Eos.
