Is Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki dating in secret? Reports claim that recent events suggest that the "Descendants of the Sun" stars may be in a relationship in a real life.
On Nov. 23, Hye Kyo celebrated her 35th birthday. Naturally, fans checked her Instagram posts to see if there is any clue that would lead to her rumored relationship with "Descendants of the Sun" co-star.
The only birthday-related photo, Hye Kyo posted that of a cake topped with fresh strawberries and a greeting that read "Happy Birthday K.Y.O." Although it was not revealed who the cake was from, many speculated that the sender is Joong Ki.
According to K-Pop Herald, Park Bo Gum said in an interview with Elle that he refers to Joong Ki and Hye Kyo as the "almighty couple." Park is a good friend of Joong Ki, thus fans assumed that he knows the low down on the "Song Song Couple" relationship status.
In past interviews, both Joong Ki and Hye Kyo gave each other compliments and praise. "I thought I found many things to learn from him. He did his job perfectly in the drama, and he is such a great person," Korea Times quoted Hye Kyo as saying about her co-star.
Joong Ki, on the other hand, said that Hye Kyo influenced him the most during filming since they spent a lot of time together. "She was always considerate of everyone around her and her behavior is a living proof of why she is such a great star," Song Joong Ki said.
Despite these rumors, those close to the rumored couple say the Hye Kyo and Joong Ki dating rumors are not true at all. "Descendants of the Sun" director of photography previously said that the two stars have a brother-sister type of relationship.
"The two of them are close friends, but they're more like work colleagues than girlfriend and boyfriend," Kim revealed. "Of course, they might do things that make it appear [that they are dating], but the staff all knew that it wasn't true."
