Apple is officially delaying the shipments of its Beats X earbuds which was originally slated for Fall 2016. The wireless product's release date has been moved to February.
Those who wanted the Beats X earphones for Christmas will be disappointed as the shipping date has been moved. Apple did officially launch the AirPods which is also another wireless headset for those who own an iPhone 7 or any other iOS device.
There were already speculations that the Beats X earbuds will be delayed after B&H Photo Video sent email to interested customers that shipping will only begin in three months' time, Mac Rumors reported. In the email, B&H stated that the manufacturer informed them that the exact shipping date of the products are still unknown.
It may be a blow for those who were going to buy the Beats X as a holiday gift to themselves or to loved ones but there is an alternative. Apple officially launched the AirPods and they are already available in the online Apple Store while physical retailers will get the products as early as next week.
Apple's own product listing of the Beats X wireless earbuds now show that the shipping will start in February which essentially confirms the earlier rumors, The Verge reported. The Cupertino-based tech giant did not reveal the reason behind the delay but it could be because of similar technical issues that the AirPods production faced.
The Beats X earbuds were announced during the iPhone 7 event in September. There are other Beats products that customers can still buy such as the Powerbeats3 headphones and the Beats Solo3 which were already released by Apple.
Apple's Beats X wireless earbuds are claimed to have up to eight hours of battery life. It also has the Fast Fuel technology that gives two hours of playback in just a 5-minute charge. Customers can order now so that their products will be shipped in February.
