Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 are two of the highly anticipated premium smartphones for 2017, and the rumor mill is already blazing hot with speculations on the devices. The South Korean handset maker is said to bring in radical designs to their two upcoming smartphones with the introduction of flexible screen displays but each will still be different from one other.
The Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to be sporting a dual-screen design that will put screens on both front and back. A limited number of this device will reportedly be initially manufactured, and the company will see the market response. The dual-screens are said to be manufactured by Japan Display Inc., according to Yahoo Tech.
The long-rumored foldable OLED display will be featured on the Galaxy S8. It is said that the same manufacturing strategy will be applied to the handset and will go full blast after testing the market first. It was back in 2008 when a prototype was first seen during a trade show. It seems the technology is now ready to make its way into the users' hands.
Rumor has it that the dual-screen Note 8 will somehow resemble a tablet when it is unfolded and its flexible midsection will allow it to transform into the size of a smartphone. Thus, the front and back will have display screens. The other design for the S8 will have its display screen on the inside when folded, Value Walk reported.
The decision to make a smaller number of the speculated devices first is said to be a part of a "two-track" strategy implemented by Samsung and could be related to the Note 7 disaster. The smartphone recall made a big dent on the company's pocket, and the new strategy was reportedly devised to make a faster recovery.
It was also previously rumored that the Galaxy S8 will likely have a bezel-less display, which many smartphone manufacturers are already attempting. Its display is also speculated to be pressure-sensitive, which will offer a different feature or function depending on the pressure it detects.
Additional rumors suggest that the home button and the 3.5 mm headphone jack will be a thing of the past with the new premium devices. They are said to be powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 835 processor and the internal storage option will also increase up to 256 GB.
If speculations are spot on, then the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might be unveiled by early next year.
