Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence again shared their screen space for the third time for the movie "Serena," which is their third movie together after "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle."
This is the first time when a movie being screened on the video streaming platform on rent before its original release date which is on March 27.
Many tactics have been seen before which has taken by the movie-makers to promote their films but this is rather an unusual mode of promotion where the makers decided to release the movie on rental basis on the video streaming sites like iTunes and Google play.
This R-rated drama movie at present is available for rent on iTunes for USD 10 both for HD and SD, whereas Google Play is charging USD 10 for SD and USD 11 for HD, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Usually, photos, promotional videos and trailers of a film could be seen playing on iTunes or any other video streaming forum several weeks before hitting the theaters but a whole movie release with the interview is a one of a kind.
Directed by Susanne Bier, Serena is a drama which is set during the Depression-era of North Carolina, tells the story of a newlywed couple played by Cooper and Lawrence, who fight to succeed in the timber industry.
Also, the movie made its world premiere at the London Film Festival in October 2014. Three weeks before its theatrical release on March 27, it will be made available on Google Play, iTunes and Amazon Instant Video, according to Variety.
