The transfer deal that would be sending Oscar to Chinese Super League giant Shanghai SIPG is 90 percent done, according to Matt Reed of Pro Soccer Talk. The 25-year old Midfielder is reportedly set to become the third highest-paid footballer in the world, if he completes his transfer to Shanghai in the coming days.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was a bit conservative with regards to questions about the impending blockbuster transfer of Oscar to the Chinese football club. However, it's very obvious that move will take place soon following Conte's decision to sit out Oscar in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Conte on Oscar's transfer via ESPN FC:
"It will be clear in the next days and... ," before laughing and adding, "I stop! always counted on him because I think Oscar is a really good player. But sometimes there are situations it is difficult to face."
According to the Times, Shanghai SIPG is ready to pay Oscar £20million salary per year, making him the third highest-paid footballer in the world just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Ezequiel Lavezzi, who is also playing in China for Hebei China Fortune.
No Cesc Fabregas Transfer to Roma
Sky Sports football writer Mark Ashenden reported that there's no such negotiation going on between Chelsea and Roma for midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Radja Nainggolan."
"Reports in the English national press on Tuesday claimed the Serie A club were keen on the 29-year-old Fabregas and could use Radja Nainggolan, whom they were interested in last summer, and Antonio Rudiger in the deal. But sources in Italy have told Sky there have been no talks over such a deal and that Nainggolan will remain at Roma beyond the January transfer window."
Conte also stressed that Cesc is a very important player on his team and certainly one of the reasons why Chelsea is on top of the Premier League standings.
"In football, in my experience, its very difficult to guarantee something. "But in my opinion Cesc is an important player for us and he played a key match against Manchester City. He played very well and tomorrow I have still to decide the starting eleven."
