It seems that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez' story is far from over. Latest reports claimed the latter's complicated relationship with the former actually prompted her three-month rehab stay.
The said claim came to light when a source told Life & Style Weekly that Gomez's complicated history with Bieber is partly to blame for her downward spiral. The former reportedly became a different person around the latter.
"While Selena does suffer from lupus and other health issues, that's not the reason she went to rehab," the source claimed. "Her biggest addiction is Justin."
The source went ahead to say that the "Kill Em with Kindness" hitmaker was extremely jealous and possessive of him. Since Gomez felt like she had to keep up with Beiber to keep him, the singer would reportedly drink, smoke and then got into weed and partying, as well.
Prior to her three-month rehab stay, Gomez reportedly stalked Bieber on social media. She began bombarding her friends with photos of them from the start of their relationship even though the latter was already dating Sofia Richie at the time, it added.
"It was creepy," the insider admitted. "She wouldn't stop. She said she missed him and the pictures made her happy, but her friends thought it just made her look sick."
This comes months after the Texas-born star announced in August that she was taking time off to work on her anxiety, panic attacks and depression, which are the symptoms of Lupus. She then came back into the spotlight during the 44th Annual American Music Awards in November.
There, Gomez was named Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist of the year. After accepting the said award, she delightedly shared her public struggles and how much it means to have such loving and dedicated fans.
"I have to say thank you so much to my fans, because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don't know what I did to deserve you," E! News quoted Gomez as saying before a predominantly American crowd. "But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. That's one thing you should know about me: I care about people. And this is for you."
