BigBang is taking the world by storm with its latest album "MADE" and the title track "Fxxk It." The five-member group made an all-kill comeback in music and album charts in South Korea and various countries around the globe. Even American publications such as The New York Times have taken notice of BigBang's latest music.
The New York Times included BigBang's "Fxxk It" on "The Playlist," which is a compilation of "the week's most notable new songs and videos." The publication wrote about T.O.P's compulsory military enlistment, which is about to begin soon. He is the first member of BigBang to do so.
"'FXXK IT' - written in part by T.O.P. and G-Dragon - is the best, a slow thumper with strong singing by Daesung, tart rapping by T.O.P., all captured in a characteristically wacky, neon-bright video," The New York Times wrote.
The list also includes songs from Ibibio Sound Machine, Gucci Maine, War Paint and Yo Gotti.
"MADE" is the last album from BigBang before all five members leave to complete their mandatory military service. Seungri, the group's youngest member, shared that he will try to enlist together with G-Dragon and Taeyang, who will enter the military after T.O.P's enlistment in February.
"Fxxk It," together with "Last Dance" and "Girlfriend," swept eight local charts in South Korea and even went to No. 1 on iTunes charts in 16 different countries.
BigBang's "MADE" album is a long time coming, being the group's first full-length release in 8 years. "Last year, we thought that the album was lacking in many ways...For us, it's not bad that it took 8 years," G-Dragon explained the reason for the delay, allkpop reported. The members of the group are perfectionists, and would not release an album if they didn't have enough songs that they liked.
In another interview, G-Dragon said that while it was easy for to write good songs in the past, now he feels it's become more difficult to write songs for BigBang. "Before I'd produce hit-songs coincidently while fooling around, but now my pride in our group has grown and as myself a fan of BIGBANG, I cannot write even one word easily for our songs. It takes a very long time," G-Dragon added.
