Reliance Jio is now opening their Jio Chat app for Pokémon GO players that want to organize Pokewalks and other activities. The communications app now has a channel dedicated for the trainers.
Pokémon GO has been recently released in India thanks to Reliance Jio and now their Jio Chat app is opening a channel for the players. In the past, players in the country have been sideloading APK files which could be dangerous for their smartphones and privacy.
Players of the popular AR game from Niantic will be able to download the Pokémon GO game in India in an official and legal manner. Reliance Digital Stores and other premises will become Pokestops and gyms in the country as well, Phone Radar reported.
Users in India would be able to make use of the Reliance Jio connectivity to fuel their Pokémon GO play time when trying to walk around the neighborhood and searching for monsters to capture. The game requires a constant Internet connection and Wi-Fi is not going to cut it because of the limited range.
When the game was released in other countries such as the United States and some parts of Asia, players coordinated to organize Pokewalks. The Jio Chat app now allows that by opening a channel dedicated to Pokémon GO players, Zee News reported.
Players in India can just use the chatting app to find other players in their area who want to walk with them to search for Pokémon or to take down Pokémon gyms. With interest in the game quickly going down the drain, it is good news for Niantic as India does have a large population.
Other activities that can be organized include Magikarp farming excursions and identifying Pokémon nests. If there is a nest nearby, it could be a valuable asset to players as they would be able to catch the same type of rare or uncommon Pokémon easily.
Jio Chat app is available for free in India. Pokémon GO players can just quickly access it to find other players that may want to join them in their quest.
