The new hack-and-slash game in town is finally coming. Square Enix recently announced that the "Dragon Quest Heroes II" will be released worldwide in 2017.

On Dec. 08, Square Enix announced through Twitter that the "Dragon Quest Heroes II" will be released in North America on April 25, 2017, with its European release following on April 28, 2017. Though the game was released in Japan for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, the North American release has only been announced for PlayStation 4.

The new revelation came with the game's action-packed trailer, giving each new and old characters an ample screen time. The 8-minute long trailer gives fans an extended glimpse of the game's multiplayer and giant boss battles.

It also introduces a new feature that allows players to transform into various monsters. Nonetheless, it should be noted first that such transformation must be done using the Monster Coin feature of the original game.

Another interesting feature is the new multiplayer functionality, which permits players to form a party of up to four players to bring down swarms of both weak and strong enemies, according to The Otaku's Study. In addition to the old characters, the sequel game will also introduce two new protagonists named Teresa and Lazarel.

Developed by Omega Force, "Dragon Quest Heroes II" recently nabbed the Gold Prize at this year's PlayStation Awards after it sold more than 580,000 copies across Asia. Speaking before a group of local reporters, Koei Tecmo Games director Tomohiko Sho hinted at the possible existence of a "Dragon Quest Heroes III."

"I believe that we were able to achieve this result because the developers, as well as the players, had fun in its development," Japanese newsoutlet Game Stalk, as cited by Siliconeraquoted director Sho as saying. "For the next time... er, I just said 'next time' by accident, but maybe I shouldn't say more."
