Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have announced that "Dynasty Warriors 9" will be launched soon. The video game will now have an open-world gameplay, which will be a first for the game series.
According to the official Japanese website of Gamecity, there was no platform announced for the video game, but it was presented by PlayStation and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president Atsushi Morita during the Greatest Games Lineup in History broadcast recently. This proves that it will be launched on a PlayStation platform for sure, and most likely a PlayStation 4 console.
This will be the latest game title for the big game franchise, which has celebrated its 15th anniversary of this year. The game company promised that it will have a rebirth with new drastic game system changes and it will have an open-world gameplay. Players will be able to visit towns in the vast fields that will let them enter and exit at any time and the map will have a big difference in elevation.
The game company revealed that all 83 characters that have appeared up until "Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires" will be reappearing in the upcoming open-world video game. A new character has also been revealed in the upcoming video game, which is Zhou Cang. There are other new characters in the new game, but there are not that many.
According to the official website of Games Talk, the game company figured that it would be pointless to follow the same pattern with the past prequels. They thought that it would be interesting if they used an open-world gameplay system for the next one.
China in its entirety will be fully reproduced in this upcoming video game. There are a lot of mountains in the country, so places where battles can take place are limited. This is why there are creating places like Hulao Pass and Zhongyuan in detail.
The game company revealed that "Dynasty Warriors 9" will change their input methods such as the Square button for the standard attack and the Triangle button for a charge attack. The concept of one man fighting a thousand opponents will still remain in the video game.
