"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to feature a battle that involves humans, dragons and the wrights, including the power struggles between beloved characters. With Sansa (Sophie Turner) having found her way back to Winterfell, her growing influence as a strong leader will be threatened when the HBO series returns to the small screens.
Sansa was one of the pivotal characters in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 given her valuable inputs that led to Jon's (Kit Harington) successful battle against Ramsay (Iwan Rheon). However, other Northern leaders failed to recognize her effort with only Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) appreciating her leadership skills and political prowess.
Jon's adoptive sister may have already rejected Littlefinger when he asked for an alliance that could potentially bring her closer to Cersei's (Lena Headey) new role as Queen of the Iron Throne, however, she may have had a change of heart. Featured during the season finale of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, the Stark sibling shared a moment with Littlefinger where she regretted having said no to Lord Baelish's offer.
In an interview with Vulture, Turner commented on how the said scene represented the moment when Sansa realized that Littefinger's offer had merit. Being deprived of the honor and respect that the character believed she deserved made her rethink how landing a spot on the Iron Throne would establish her power.
The British actress also shared how Sansa may have developed a thirst for power and how it gave her control over other people. Given the secrets that Sansa knows about Littlefinger's previous deeds, the said character may even use that to her advantage in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, according to Turner.
However, Sansa will have a hard time controlling her growing political influence, as well as trying to convince other people to heed her advice. Turner added, "She has power, but it's a question of whether people listen to her or not."
Meanwhile, Turner also made a similar comment during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Sansa's will develop into a strong leader but will face various struggles that will challenge her authority as Jon's equal, according to the actress.
