Rumors have it that Xiaomi is working on the next-generation model for Mi Notebook Air. Recently, the Chinese company shared the image of its upcoming laptop on Weibo. The teaser contains the image of the new device and it also says that it will be launching on Dec. 23 in Beijing.
Xiaomi introduced its first laptop Mi Notebook Air in July this year. The device is said to have borrowed the name, design and its features from Apple's MacBook Air which is undeniable.
As mentioned above, the invitation carries Mi Notebook Air image. It also shows support for 4G connectivity at the bottom corner of the display. This shows that the device will come with the SIM tray. Xiaomi is likely to come up with some upgraded features in the device.The invitation also includes the logos of both Xiaomi and of China Mobile, GizmoChina reported.
The current Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air comes in two display variants of 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch. Both the models support full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is said that the new version is likely to come with higher resolution.
Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air Specifications, Features
The Mi Notebook Air features full metal body. The device with 12.5-inch variant measures 12.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.07 kg. The other variant with 13.3-inch measures 14.8mm in thickness and weighs at 1.28 kg.
The Mi Notebook Air with the 12.5-inch variant comes equipped with 2.2GHz Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor and Intel HD 515 graphics. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and internal storage of 128 GB.
The other variant with 13.3-inch display comes powered by 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor and with Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphic. The device comes packed with 8 GB of RAM and internal storage of 256 GB.
It is loaded with the Windows 10 Home Edition OS. The laptop comes with 1-megapixel camera together with the microphone. Both the variants include connectivity options such as USB Type-C, HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jack, Phone Radar reported.
Mi Notebook Air Pricing
The 12.5-inch variant is priced at Yuan 3,499 ($503). The 13.3-inch model is priced at Yuan 4,999 ($719). Since the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air is expected to support 4G connectivity, it is expected to cost higher than its predecessor.
