Android Nougat is rolling out for Sony Xperia X, Xperia X Dual and Xperia X Compact. The build number of the Android 7.0 Nougat update is 34.2.A.0.266.
The model numbers of Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Dual, which are getting the Android Nougat update are F5121 and F5122 respectively. Sony Xperia X Compact with the model number F5321 will also be receiving the Android Nougat update soon, according to Xperia Blog.
The Android 7.0 update is rolling out in phases for these devices. All the above-mentioned devices are expected to receive the update in a fortnight.
Xperia users in Latin America, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand, Middle East are currently getting the Android Nougat update for their above-mentioned devices. The rollout is expected to start in Australia and Turkey soon.
The latest Android Nougat rollout also comprises of the security patch for December 2016. As a result, the update is more than 1GB in size.
The Xperia users can manually check their devices to see whether they are eligible for the update or not. To do so, they ought to go to Settings> About Phone> Check for Software Update.
These users are advised to download the update when the battery levels are more than 50 percent charged. In case the battery level is low than 50 percent, then the device ought to be connected to a power source before starting the download process.
Due to any reason, if the download process is halted midway due to loss of power then the device can be bricked as well. The download should also be attempted on a reliable and unmetered Wi-Fi connection.
Apart from Sony Xperia X, X Dual and Xperia X Compact, other Xperia devices, which are confirmed to get the Android Nougat update include Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance, according to Android Police. Sony X Performance and Xperia XZ have already received the update and others are expected to get it in the coming months.
