Mariah Carey made a bombshell just before 2016 wraps up. The "Hero" hitmaker just cleared that she does not know either of Ariana Grande or or Demi Lovato, but she loves Britney Spears.
Carey, who is known in throwing major shades to fellow singers, made her statement during her latest appearance on Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens" on Dec.18, Sunday. In the show's segment "Plead the Fifth," she was asked to give her comment about famous singers.
"I don't know her," Carey told Cohen when asked about her comment about Grande, who makes Carey as her inspiration. "Honestly, I'm not familiar. I listen to hip-hop more than I listen to pop music."
When Cohen asked Carey about Demi Lovato, who once defended Jennifer Lopez on the social media against her, the "Hero" singer's answer was straight and real. She said that she does not know her too, and Lovato should come to her and introduce herself.
During that interview, Carey called Lady Gaga "sweet," while Katy Perry and Taylor Swift as "nice girls." About Miley Cyrus, she only mentioned that she met her once. Surprisingly, Carey also told Cohen that she does not know Madonna because she have not spoken to her yet.
However, when it comes to Spears, she maintains her poise and told Cohen that she loves her. It was not the first time that Carey dissed Grande just like Lopez and Nicki Minaj. During Carey's interview on Power 105.1 a few years back, she turned down the "Into You" singer.
Carey's online feud with Lopez started early in the 2000's when she made a comment that she does not know Lopez, but she finds Beyonce nice and a good songwriter. Since then, the famous line "I don't know her" became an internet meme.
Meanwhile, Carey, who was previously engaged to Packer told Cohen that she has no plans of returning the huge 35-carat engagement ring that the billionaire gave her. The gigantic engagement ring costs around $10 million.
Following her "I don't know her" lines with a number of popular singers, Carey arrived in Aspen to spend her yearly vacation along with her 5-year-old daughter and her rumored boyfriend Bryan Tanaka. Her daughter was carried by Tanaka that further fueled the romance rumors between them.
