The year was 1915, Root Glass Company's resident designer drew curvaceous bottle design that Coke executives loved. The original design had to be slimmed down, in a way, since its middle is somewhat too wide for its based but that it was the basis for what would become the most famous bottle in the world today.
With Coke's 100th anniversary celebration of the original design of the iconic bottle, Coca Cola Company confirmed that they will be releasing this year the prototype that was sketched in 1915 to look back and commemorate the bottle that shaped the history of the multi-billion soda company, Toledo Blade reported.
During the 1930's recession, Owens-Illinois purchased Root Glass and at that point, The Toledo based company were already manufacturing Coke bottles, but the acquisition has given them a bigger slice of the pie (market).
On separate news, Coca Cola has confirmed, via Adage, that they will be releasing a series of ads to commemorate the 100th year anniversary of the bottle, on top of exhibits all over the country, which will be shown in 100 countries.
Coca Cola has said that the ads have been tested and scrutinized by consumers and professionals alike and it the series of ads will show the world the commitment of the soda company of their quality ads, both past and present.
The Weiden and Kennedy made ad campaigns is expected to be released by next week which will include an ad coined as "Balloons" which shows the bubbles inside a soda bottle scored by the 80's hit 99 red balloons.
