The Raw women's championship has changed hands six times since July when Sasha Banks ended Charlotte Flair's 113-day reign. Apparently, there is a reason why Sasha continues to drop the title back to Charlotte: Vince McMahon does not like "The Boss."
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (subscription required), the WWE chairman is not a big fan of Sasha. Vince is reportedly worried about the three-time champion's back that is why he is afraid to give her a long title reign.
"I don't know that Sasha is gonna get a long run with the championship. She's gotta overcome Vince, and Vince has never been that hot on her. The thing is, what Vince is worried about isn't so much her getting a bloody nose or anything like that, Vince is more worried about her back," Meltzer said on the recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio.
It should be noted that Sasha has injured her back a couple of times since her main roster debut last year. She also missed some time earlier this year due to a concussion and that made her vulnerable in Vinny Mac's eyes.
Also, there is the fact that the WWE likes to prolong Charlotte's undefeated streak in one-on-one matches on pay-per-views. Maybe, the company wants Charlotte to break her dad Ric's 16 world titles in just two years.
Nevertheless, "The Boss" has to show to her boss that she can remain healthy. According to PW Mania, the 25-year-old superstar has been trying her best to put up more muscle to be more injury free. She currently weighs around 114 pounds but she certainly can improve that.
But for now, Sasha and Charlotte's rivalry is over since the former champ does not have a rematch clause in her contract. As recapped by WWE.com, Sasha already started her feud with Nia Jax this past Monday on Raw.
However, it seems like the three-time women's champ is still out of action with a kayfabe knee injury. Expect their rivalry to heat up next year as the road to WrestleMania draws near.
On the other hand, Charlotte lost to Bayley in a non-title match which means it will be the program going forward. Check out the video below to watch Nia's attack on Sasha last Monday. For more WWE rumors and updates, just follow me on Twitter @johnnyrundown.
