The Android Nougat 7.1.1 update will roll out for the Moto X series whereas the Android Nougat 7.0 update will be released for Droid Maxx 2 and Droid Turbo 2.
The Droid Maxx 2 and the Droid Turbo 2 users can expect to upgrade their device with Android Nougat 7.0. Moto Z Droid and the Moto Z Droid Force users have already received the Android Nougat 7.0 update last week, according to Android Central.
On the other hand, the Moto X devices, which will be receiving the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update include Moto Style, Moto X Pure (third gen) and Moto X Force. All the devices are expected to get the update in the coming fortnight.
The Android Nougat 7.1.1 update for the Moto X devices will be rolled out in phases for the users, according to Android Authority. The global rollout is expected to wrap up by January 2017.
The Moto X series users need to manually check their device to see if they are eligible for the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update or not. The user can look out for the Software Update in the Settings menu of the device.
In case the Moto X device is ready to receive the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update, then the user will be prompted to download it. While downloading, it is recommended to connect the phone to a power source if the battery levels are less than 50 percent.
Also, the phone needs to attempt the download over a secure and unmetered Wi-Fi connection so that there is no interruption during the download process. In the unlikely event of any kind of interruption while downloading the Android Nougat 7.1.1 update, the Moto X device can not only lose the local data of the user but also get bricked.
Besides Motorola, Sony Xperia users are also receiving the Android Nougat 7.0 update on their devices. It is rolling out for Sony Xperia X, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Dual, Xperia Performance and Xperia X Compact. Other devices in the Sony Xperia series such as Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia XA Ultra are expected to receive it shortly.
