Not much was revealed about the smartwatch and the event which will take place on Monday. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook released an interesting statement about the Apple Watch saying the he "can't live without it."
Apple first revealed its plans to develop a smart wearable device on 2014. When the news came out that Apple planning to build a smartwatch, the whole tech community went frenzy on speculation about its specs and what features will be added. The Cupertino will start shipping the Apple Watch sometime in April, NDTV reported.
The release of the Apple Watch will be the first time since 2010 that Apple has introduced a new product. The last new product introduced by Apple was the iPad.
Apple released a statement saying that its newest product will have an entry price of $349 in the United States, according to Quartz. It will be available in two sizes with three different variants including an 18-larat gold case.
Based on bits of information released about the Apple Watch, it can be connected to an iPhone and the watch will have integrated sensors mainly to track its user's health status.
Many tech analysts predict that the Apple Watch will be a direct competitor to other smart wearable devices that focuses on fitness and health like those marketed by Nike, Jawbone and Fitbit.
Despite Apple's lack of experience when it comes to the smart wearable devices market, many industry trackers are positive that the impact of the Apple Watch can level that of the iPod which changed the MP3 player industry and the iPad which paved the way for tablet computers.
