AMD Ryzen price and specs have been highly talked about and compared to Intel's CPU in the past weeks. With a promise of a much better performance, there have been strong speculation that Intel may soon drop its price when the Zen based processor of AMD will arrive in Q1 of 2017.
Many experts and enthusiasts believed that the arrival of the Zen based processor architecture of AMD will be a defining moment for the company, as they try to outclass and outsale Intel processor in the market. If AMD Ryzen will perform as promised and hyped, then Intel's dominance will surely be challenged with its impending release. Thus, a potential price downgrade could be sanctioned by Intel to counter AMD's possible market pull.
The potential scenario of an Intel price drop has also been introduced by Tom's Hardware which gained responses from enthusiasts. Although there is still no indication that Intel really considers Ryzen CPU as a threat to their dominance and market sale, PCWorld still opined that if AMD Ryzen will come in at a $500 price point, there would surely be a "very little maneuvering room" for Intel to chase down and cut the price of its own $1,100 8-core CPU.
Although the idea of a mark down from Intel may sound very exciting for some gamers and enthusiasts, such idea should still be placed on hold. Intel will not necessarily drop its prices despite AMD Ryzen showcasing the best of its performance. A tech-giant like Intel would have to wait and see the overall impact of Ryzen processor before an extreme measure, like a price drop, will be consummated.
In a separate news, aside from the rumored head on competition of the two tech-giants, there are now speculations of a partnership between AMD and Intel beyond CPU industry. According to PC World, Intel may use AMD GPU to challenge the Nvidia's growing market dominance.
"The licensing deal between AMD and Intel is signed and done for putting AMD GPU tech into Intel's iGPU," PCWorld quoted HardOCP.com editor Kyle Bennett as saying.
With all these latest rumors and speculation in the background, 2017 gaming and PC industry will surely be interesting. Guess we would just have to wait and see how things will turn out for both AMD and Intel.
