Taeyeon's latest track"11:11" has become the subject of controversy. A popular YouTube channel famous for calling out plagiarized music targeted the Girls Generation member in a video uploaded on Nov. 14.
The producers behind Taeyeon's newest single are now being accused of plagiarizing the music from other famous artists. The "11:11" song's producers Christian Vinten and Chelcee Grimes are accused of copying the chord progressions of the song from other artists and the instrumentals from Artist vs. Poet's "Kids Again" and Jordin Sparks' "One Step At A Time."
After listening to the comparison between all three tracks in the upload, several fans left comments saying that they agreed with the plagiarism accusations. They also pointed out that the only difference between the instrumentals of "11:11" and that of the other two songs is the octave.
"11:11" has been a huge hit since its release. It even ranked number seven in Billboard's 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2016 list.
In 2015, Taeyeon pursued a solo career, which she kicked off with "I." She later went on to deliver several hits like "Rain," "Why" and her latest release was no different.
Taeyeon seems to be grabbing media attention for all the wrong reasons recently. Earlier this month, the singer's collaboration with American rapper Wiz Khalifa at the 2016 MAMA became the hot topic of discussion.
The collaboration did not pan out after Taeyeon backed out of the performance minutes before the "See You Again" hitmaker went up on stage, All Kpop reported. Both artists went back and forth on social media as Khalifa claimed the k-pop idol lied about her reasons for cancelling the performance.
