Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight division title contender Nate Diaz says that he would fight in only two conditions: either put him on the cage on a big fight or give him a $20 million payday.
The 31-year-old American last fought in August when he suffered a majority decision loss to current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. According to a report by Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, there were rumors of the UFC targeting an interim lightweight title bout between Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
But Diaz has certain conditions before he comes back from his mixed martial arts hiatus, either make it a big fight with a big name or put $20 million on the table. Otherwise, "I'm just living my life," he says.
In recent weeks, Diaz, together with all-time boxing great Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, joined forces to bash McGregor who a weeks ago became the first UFC fighter to win two titles in two divisions simultaneously.
Diaz, who gave the Irish fighter his first loss in the UFC, believes he won their rematch saying he has already beaten McGregor and the mixed martial arts promotion does not pay him enough money to fight again.
McGregor and Diaz have a lot of bad history together. Before their much awaited matchup in UFC 202, both rowdy fighters exchanged in a melee which earned them both disciplinary cases, as reported by MMA Junkie.
On the other hand, though the fight against Nurmagomedov is still not offered to the veteran Brazilian jiu jitsu artist, both fighters have some bad blood against each other.
Nurmagomedov once told MMA Junkie that Diaz is a "b*llsh*t guy" and he is just "all talk." When both fighters saw each other at an event, they did not just threw harsh words but kicks and punches as well.
If Nurmagomedov and Diaz' fight would come true, then we could expect another rivalry in the making.
