Apple dropped signing the iOS 10.1.1 version after Italian hacker Luca Todesco released the jailbreak tool. However, there seems to be a chance for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool to appear despite the recent update.
Pangu was the first one to demonstrate a working iOS 10 jailbreak during the beta phase but the hacking team suddenly went quiet regarding their progress. Even TaiG who rolled out several tools for iOS 9 has no updates either if they still plan to release one.
Todesco seems to be the only one making progress with the iOS 10 jailbreak tools. He recently released the Yalu Beta 4 which fixes several problems with the earlier versions.
The Yalu Beta 4 iOS 10 jailbreak tool is recommended only for developers who have 64-bit devices, WCCF Tech reported. Once there is a critical problem encountered, users will be forced to update to iOS 10.2 to save their devices from being bricked permanently.
Apple has been having a hard time battling hackers that keep on finding ways to jailbreak their iOS devices. However, the recent updates have also made it difficult for hackers like Pangu and TaiG to progress.
Hacker Stefan Esser stated in a tweet that the iOS 10.2 jailbreak may soon be available. Todesco could have some competition with other teams who wish to release the iOS 10.2 jailbreak tools, Forbes reported.
If Apple does release a new iOS 10.3 update soon, the iOS 10.2 jailbreak could be a moot point. Still, people can just stay on their jailbroken versions. Some users are still on Pangu's iOS 9.3 jailbreak version because they want to keep their customizations.
The downside to staying in an outdated version is the security problems. In addition, they will not be able to make use of all the useful iOS 10 features. Fans will have to wait for the iOS 10.2 jailbreak either from Todesco or the other hackers.
