The latest details and spoilers for "Arrow" season 5 will feature Black Siren facing Team Arrow and John Diggle Jr. to become Green Arrow soon.
A new trailer for the second haft of "Arrow" season 5 has been streamed online and it featured Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) and the rest of Team Arrow welcoming back Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) after Oliver discovered her alive and well in the Arrow cave.
Circumstances of Laurel's return to life has been the subject of numerous rumors and speculations. Previous reports teased that Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) could be responsible for Laurel's resurrection via Lazarus Pit which was also used to revive Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) and Thea Queen/Speedy (Willa Holland) back from the brink o death.
However, the trailer showed the truth behind Laurel's resurrection as a scene in the video shows her using a sonic scream at Team Arrow, with Oliver telling Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) that she is not there "Laurel". This proves that this "Laurel" is actually Earth 2 metahuman Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Siren, Screenrant reported.
Black Siren first debuted on "The Flash" season 2 as part of Hunter Zolomon/Zoom's (Teddy Sears) army of Earth 2 metahumans who invaded Earth 1 Central City. Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) fought and defeated her and was placed in the pipeline prison within S.T.A.R. Labs.
It is unknown yet as to how Black Siren escaped her prison in S.T.A.R. Labs or what her purpose she has on Star City and Team Arrow.
Additionally, it’s unclear if Black Siren is appearing on Arrow as a one-off villain for the winter premiere, or for a somewhat longer character arc. Either way, fans of Arrow who miss seeing both Laurel and Cassidy on the show will likely be excited for her return.
In other news, executive producer Marc Guggenheim explains the possibility that John Diggle/Spartan's (David Ramsey) son John Diggle Jr. could be the Green Arrow in "Arrow" TV series.
John Diggle Jr. (Joseph David Jones) first appeared in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 were in the Legends landed in the year 2046 of Star City and John became this timeline's Green Arrow protecting the city from Grant Wilson a.k.a. Future Deathstroke and his gang.
This Green Arrow takes the alias Connor Hawke as a reminder of his failure to save his father, stating that he does not deserve to use his birth name.
Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly that it was certainly a notion of theirs to begin with, but It is hard for him to honestly answer the question without committing to a version of time travel, because in order for that to be the case, then "Flashpoint" would have to have happen first, with complicated time travel rules that, quite frankly, he as a writer donot have an appetite to answer.
Unless the showrunners tell a story one day that deals with John Jr., and even then, Guggenheim does not know if they would directly address that issue head on. Anyone who watches "Legends of Tomorrow" knows that, by design, they do not spend a lot of time discussing temporal mechanics, some people like that and it annoys the hell out of other people.
It likely take a long time before audiences see John Diggle Jr. as the Green Arrow of the future since it will likely take a sci-fi styled themed episode of "Arrow" to make that happen or even a future episode of "Legends of Tomorrow".
"Arrow" season 5 returns on Jan. 25, 2017 on the CW Network.
