One of the best features of Sony's latest console system, the PlayStation 4 Pro, is the capability of 4K resolution with compatible video game titles. Here is how to setup the PS4 Pro to enable the 4K resolution.
Owners of the PS4 Pro must have a 4K compatible display device like a 4K TV or a 4K projector with a Premium HDMI cable to get the dynamic 4K resolution, the official website of PlayStation explained. They also need to enable the 4K feature on both the PS4 Pro system and the 4K compatible display device before starting. Other devices that will be in between the display and the console should also get this feature enabled in the settings.
On the 4K compatible display device, first open the display settings menu and find the resolution settings to enable 4K. Repeat these steps for other devices that will be attached between the display and the console system
For the PS4 Pro console system, it should automatically enable the 4K setting if it detects a 4K compatible device connected to it. To ensure that it is and it has the highest possible resolution enabled, owners should go to the home screen and go to the settings, then sound and screen menu item, and lastly the video output settings.
The resolution can be set to 2160P - YUV420 or the 2160p - RGB setting. Owners can also set the resolution to Automatic so that their PS4 Pro system will default it to the highest possible resolution available for the display device. They can then try out a 4K compatible video game title or a video streaming service to test out the setting, but there are some games that will require them to set the 4K setting in-game.
To make sure that the PS4 Pro will be able to function properly and take advantage of the 4K resolution feature, owners must make sure that their video games are updated with their most recent patch, The Verge explained. Some games add a new feature to the main menu, which will enable certain features only this console system could enable.
PS4 Pro owners are warned that they should purchase only 4K TVs that are compatible with the console. For those who have already purchased a 4K TV that is currently incompatible with the console, they will have to wait for Sony to develop a patch to make it compatible and enable the 4K resolution feature.
