Following Meizu's M5 Note release, a new Meizu smartphone is spotted on benchmarking database, such as TENAA and China Compulsory Certification (3C). Recent news suggests that the said device is called as Meizu M5S.
Two listings regarding the device have been sighted carrying the model numbers M612Q and M612M, which both possess similar specifications. According to the TENAA listing, the purported Meizu M5S may feature a 5.2-inch IPS HD Display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, Ray Arena reported. Also, the device will be powered by 1.3 GHz octa-core processor along with three RAM variants 2/3/4GB.
As per its internal chassis, the expected processor for the M5S is the MediaTek MT6750. The device will have three storage variants, namely 16, 32, and 64GB internal memory. Its internal capacity can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card. The device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box, with Flyme 5.2 on the top.
On another note, leaked image renders reveal what the alleged Meizu M5S will appear in its technical design. Some of the images display the front and back panel of the smartphone. In the face of the phone is a home button, embedded with a fingerprint sensor, while the smartphone's rear showcases a camera with a LED flash. The antennae lines running along the top and bottom edges of the phone are also evident.
Besides the TENAA listing, the Meizu M5S have also passed another certification website, the China Compulsory Certification (3C), according to GSM Arena. The certification's table reveals that the Meizu M5S will be powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core processor housed inside a 5.2-inch HD screen. RAM options could include 2, 3, or 4GB, while internal memory options include 16, 32, or 64GB. In its optics department, the handset would sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter.
Following the said report, the device weighs 138g and has 148.2 × 72.53 × 8.4mm dimensions. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and carries a hefty 2,930mAh battery. Color options include silver gray, gold, and rose gold.
Meizu's next flagship phone, M5S, is expected to be released at CES 2017.
