Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date could happen later this year as the South Korean electronics giant aims to harness the popularity of the phablet brand to rally its mobile segment. Contrary to previous speculations, it now appears that Samsung Electronics will not be ditching its Galaxy Note series despite the momentary dip in popularity due to its recall of the exploding Note 7.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release is expected to happen by the second half of this year, Business Korea reported. Apparently, the Korean electronics giant recognizes the brand's potential given its popularity among consumers. Because of this brand recognition, the company is planning to introduce another model later this year as its tarnished brand reputation is already on the mend.
What is even more exciting is that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 specs will feature the latest in mobile technology. For instance, the upcoming phablet is predicted to sport a 4K AMOLED display, according to Forbes.
The upcoming phablet is likewise expected to have ultra-definition VR compatibility. A VR feature could also be another selling point to lure electronics consumers back into the brand and is certainly a complimentary feature to a 4K display.
Meanwhile, Galaxy Note 8 is expected to sport the same virtual assistant that is expected to debut this year via the Galaxy S8. The intelligent app called Bixby was developed by Viv Labs which was put up by Siri creators. An improved iris authentication system is also expected to be a feature of the upcoming Note 8 because it was already present in the Note 7.
Samsung has not yet officially released a statement regarding the Galaxy Note 8 release date. However, industry observers believe that the upcoming phablet could be released by August or September based on the pattern of the previous models' launches.
