In "Final Fantasy XV," players can acquire several weapons that will have the ultimate stats to fight off enemies. These are the legendary weapons that they need to find before and after it is finished, which will lead to several sidequests. One of those legendary weapons is Noctis' Ultima Blade, which is a full upgrade of the Engine Blade, and here is how to get it.
According to the official website of RPGSite, the sidequest to upgrade Noctis' Engine Blade will start when Cid will give it to the players. The quest will be called Cid Sophiar, Master Mechanic, and it wil contain three quests, which will unlock sequentially. These quests are A Better Engine Blade, A Better Engine Blade II, and finally A Better Engine Blade III.
The first quest called A Better Engine Blade will start once Cid will talk to the players about weapon upgrading. They will have to hunt for a Rusted Bit, which can be found commonly on random drops in dungeons. After getting the item and completing the first quest, it will reward them with the Engine Blade II with 39 Attack, +3 Critical, +6 MP, and +12 Magic.
The next quest will be available after completing the first one and have obtained the Engine Blade II. Cid will be requesting a Glass Gemstone, which is a fairly common drop that can be found all over the world. For those who do not want to grind, they can find it in Lestallum, inside a building not far from where they can park the car, and they can also find it at the top of the Rock of Ravatogh dungeon.
After getting the item and completing the task, Cid will reward the players with the Engine Blade III. It has 134 Attack, +3 Critical, +25 MP, and +18 Magic.
The last quest will be the one that will transform the Engine Blade III into the Ultima Blade. Cid will request for a Sturdy Helixhorn, which is a rare drop from monsters. Players can find the item from the Duplicorn, which they need to break the beast's horn for a higher chance of getting the required item.
Duplicorns can be fought if players accept the Old Lestallum Lvl 29 hunt called The Last Spiracorns. Get to the area where the monsters are walking around, and make a hard save. If they do not drop the horns, they will have to reset and try again until the item is dropped.
For the players' efforts, Cid will reward them with 1000 EXP and start working on the Ultima Blade, which will take a while. After five hunts, he will reward them with the legendary weapon.
According to the official website of "Final Fantasy XV" Wiki, it has a 364 Attack, +40 MP, and +30 Magic. It can also absorb elemental energy when dealing the finishing blow.
