Game studio Bioware has confirmed that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will be launched on March 2017. Rolling release date for the United States and the rest of North America will start March 21 and on the 23rd of the same month Europe will get a piece of the fourth installment for the massively popular game franchise.
Bioware GM Aaryn Flynn announced the release timing on the official Andromeda website and teased that gaming fans will be "getting the best possible experience." Flynn also conceded that it took some time to complete the follow up to the original Mass Effect trilogy and added "we appreciate your patience (and in fact, even your lack of patience in some instances) as we've been focused on completing the game," per the report by WCCFTech.
The latest role-playing game from EA will feature Sara Ryder as the chief protagonist in the storyline that picks up from the Mass Effect 3 or 600 years after the setting used in the last title. In Andromeda, Ryder will be the lead galaxy explorer in the name of the human race.
Flynn said that Ryder and the Mass Effect animation will be brought to life by the FrostbiteTM game engine, which he described as "an incredible engine that's delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda."
However, there appears to be some issues in the FrostbiteTM game engine or the Andromeda animation rendering as Polygon pointed out in a report that the game trailer provided by EA in December was observed shaky animation. Specifically, Ryder's facial expression was seen out of synch with the emotion she was supposed to get across.
"Ryder's face doesn't seem to express or change too much," one observation was quoted by the same Polygon report as saying.
Flynn, however, immediately addressed the concern and made clear that the Mass Effect animation and the game in general is still a work in progress. "Sorry there's a facial performance bug that lets her down here. We'll improve it," the Bioware GM said in a tweet and as reported by Polygon.
EA has indicated that more previews of the game will be seen on the Las Vegas CES 2017 and likely with improved animation.
Flynn assured though that despite the initial glitch that was pointed "Sara Ryder is awesome. Strong, funny, and adventurous."
And per WCCFTech, Mass Effect: Andromeda is game title release date worthy to look forward to this March 2017. The fourth instalment in the series promises "an uncapped framerate on PC." But for PS4 and Xbox One gamers the framerate will be limited to 30FPS.
