2NE1 comeback is no longer happening, but the group has one last gift to their loyal fans. The trio will release their final track, "Goodbye," to bid farewell to their fans.
On Jan. 5, YG Entertainment announced, "As 2NE1 were not able to say a final goodbye to fans due to their sudden disbandment, they plan to send a song." All Kpop added that Park Bom, Dara, and CL have wrapped up recording the song "Good Bye" and finished filming the music video as well.
In November, YG Entertainment officially announced that they have decided to disband the agency's female group citing Minzy's departure made it hard for the remaining members to go on. The disbandment shocked fans as 2NE1 is one of the top girl groups in South Korea and worldwide.
The label also revealed that YG renewed the contracts of CL and Dara, but Park Bom did not renew her contract. This is different from what YG announced earlier this year when 2NE1's contract expired. Many speculated that she intends to sign to another agency. However, at the state of her scandal and image to the public, many are skeptical that an agency will accept her.
A fan asked Bom about her employment status, to which Bom replied that she is still a professional singer. Right after the controversial disbandment of 2NE1, Park Bom posted a video of herself practicing a song. Could this be the group's final track?
There are speculations that the final track and Bom's appearance on the music video and shows will probably help her image and allow her to re-enter the industry. Bom's drug scandal has hurt her image and has prevented the group from releasing new music.
Minzy, on the other hand, will make her solo debut under Music Works this year although an exact date has not been revealed. In her latest post, she had a photo op with Candian composer Steve Barakatt.
