As previous rumors have hinted, Apple is rumored to launch three iPads by Q2 2017.
Well-known analyst from KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo is known for revealing leaked information of Apple devices before their release has said that the company is working three iPad Pro variants. The three models include a refreshed 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro with slim bezels and a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, BGR reported.
The 2017 iPad Pro 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch models are expected to be powered by the Apple A10X chipset. It is an upgraded version of the Apple 10 chipset that powers up the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is expected to feature A9X SoC, a modified version of Apple A9 chipset that is present under the hood of iPhone 6Ss, Phone Arena reported.
According to the analyst, 60 percent of the total iPad shipments will mainly constitute 9.7-inch iPad Pro this year. The overall shipments of iPads have been declining by 10 percent year-over-year. However, the new versions of iPad Pro will be able to boost Apple's revenue with better average selling prices.
As of this writing, there is no confirmation on an upgraded version of iPad Mini that features a 7.9-inch display. Its most recent model was iPad Mini 4 that was launched in 2015. There is no confirmation on whether the Cupertino company will be releasing iPad Pro Mini or iPad Mini 5 in the near future.
The Cupertino company is expected to unveil three 2017 iPad Pro models in March or April this year. Hence, the upcoming iPad Pro models are expected to get officially announced in Q2 this year.
As far as 2017 iPhones are concerned, Apple is expected to release three iPhones this year with screen size options like 4.7-inch, 5-inch and 5.5-inch. The iPhone 8 Plus sporting 5.5-inch display is expected to arrive with OLED screen and dual camera setup.
The iPhone 8 with 5-inch is rumored to arrive with LCD screen. Its rear and front cameras are expected to carry support for Optical Image Stabilization. The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 is expected to feature an LCD screen along with single camera sensor.
