Swansea City has snapped a four-game losing slide after pulling off a tough 2-1 victory over lowly team Crystal Palace on the road at the Selhurst Park during their most recent fixture on Jan. 3, as per the Evening Standard.
English defender Alfie Mawson opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with a header off a free kick by Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage at the halftime break.
Palace midfielder Wilfried Zaha equalized the count in the 83rd minute, but the Swans' Angel Rangel buried the winner five minutes later to give head coach Paul Clement's side the much-needed win.
Meanwhile, Arsenal was held to a 3-3 tie by a 10-man Bournemouth squad on the road at the Vitality Stadium also on Jan. 3, via Daily Mail Online.
Bournemouth scored the first two goals of the match with strikes from Charlie Daniels and Callum Wilson in the 16th and 20th minutes respectively as the hosts built a 2-0 lead at the half.
