"RiME" has been confirmed to get a physical release for the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One by Tequila Works. The release date of the video game has also been revealed.
CEO and creative director Raul Rubio told MCVUK in an exclusive interview that the game will get a physical release for both video game console systems. A retail release for the Nintendo Switch is still in consideration.
Rubio revealed that the game has lived up to his initial vision for it. He feels that it has remained true to the project's original vision and concept of living an adventure through the eyes of an eight year old child. He also said that the game's release is now only a few months away, but the team is still working hard on polishing it up and adding some final touches.
The CEO explained how the additional workload of the extra platforms has affected their development team. He said that the ability to share their vision with a wider audience makes the extra effort worth it, even if it meant adding more workload for them. They are grateful to the belief Grey Box and Six Foot has shown in both "RiME" and the studio.
On the official website of the video game, the game developers revealed that it will be launched sometime in May. It will launch on several platforms like the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. A new reveal trailer, which can be viewed below, showcased its gameplay and several scenes in it.
The video game will still retain its distinct cartoon-like look and intriguing environment. The design actually reminded some gamers a bit of several popular video games like "Zelda: Wind Waker," and "The Last Guardian" as some examples.
Tequila Works describe the video game as a single-player puzzle adventure about a young boy who gets stranded after a shipwreck. Players will get to see through his eyes when he goes on an adventure of discovery and looking for the island's mysterious secrets. They will make use of light, sound, perspective, and time to solve each puzzle they will encounter throughout the long adventure.
