The latest details and spoilers for "The Flash" live-action film will feature Keystone City as the setting and a cameo appearance from Captain Boomerang.
It seems that Ezra Miller's version of Barry Allen/The Flash will have a different setting in "The Flash" movie as a familiar city in "The Flash" mythos will likely be the main setting of the film.
According to Argus-Gov (via ComicBook), Keystone City has been confirmed when a criminal file from Slipknot (Adam Beach) hinted the city's name from Alabama. In the DC Comics, Keystone City is the sister of Central City where Barry Allen lives. Keystone is also the home of Iris West (who is played by Kiersey Clemons) and her relative Wally, the third person to wear The Flash mantle.
While the Easter egg could simply be a nod to Flash and DC lore, it might also mean the movies will shift Barry from Central to Keystone City in an effort to separate the film from the CW Network "The Flash" TV series. It also hints that DC fans might see the cinematic version Wally West into the DC Extended Universe.
Meanwhile, a member of the Suicide Squad will be making a cameo in "The Flash" film as Jai Courtney will likely reprise the role of Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang.
It is no surprise since Captain Boomerang is part of the Rogues and his present in "The Flash" film expand his character to the audiences and viewers who never knew him in comics, Inverse reported.
Captain Boomerang was captured by The Flash (Miller) after a bank heist and was sent to Belle Reve prison. He was then recruited by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) as part of Task Force X, an off-the-books government black ops unit comprise of criminals, assassins and super villains. His teammates consist of Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Slipknot (Adam Beach) and Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman).
It is also rumored that The Flash will face Captain Cold and his sister Golden Glider in the live-action film. Barry will appear in the "Justice League" live-action film as he is recruited by Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) along with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and resurrected Kal-El/Superman (Henry Cavill).
The Flash will appear first in "Justice League" on Nov. 17, 2017, and his solo film is on March 16, 2018.
