After the successful run of both Redmi Notes 3 and 4, Beijing-based tech firm Xiaomi is said to be coming up with a follow-up to the aforementioned handsets. The yet to be announced mobile phone, expected to be dubbed as the Redmi Note 5, is reported to have passed a United States-based regulatory agency and is believed to be unveiled to consumers soon.
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission is said to have certified the Redmi Note 5 that it passed its standards for mobile communication and even granted an FCC ID: 2AFZZ-RT6102, according to The Leaker. In addition, tech buffs firmly believe that it will be named as such due to some features that are closely similar to previous Redmi Note iterations.
Some of the notable attributes are the upcoming handset's battery pack that has a capacity of up to 4,000 mAh, a 5.5-inch display with almost uniform dimensions from early Redmi Note handsets, and a fingerprint scanner that is situated directly below its rear camera. However, Xiaomi enthusiasts should be taking this with a pinch of salt as the company has to make an official statement about the device.
As for the mobile phone's specifications, the handset will have the abovementioned 5.5-inch screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution not to mentioned that it will be reinforced with the latest Gorilla Glass 4 from Corning. The phone will be powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X25 and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset. However, this component will be determined on what region will the phone be shipped to, Android Headlines reported.
It will be preloaded with an Android Nougat operating system alongside Xiaomi's MIUI 9. The device is said to carry a total of 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and varying amounts of storage capacities in which the base variant will have 32 GB while the top end render will have 64 GB.
The phone's camera component will have a 16 and an 8-megapixel rear and front-facing shooter respectively with the former having live filters, HD video recording, and image stabilization. Other notable attributes include a USB Type-C hub, the aforementioned fingerprint reader, and a "Quick Charge 3.0" for its battery pack.
The price tag for the new Redmi Note is still undisclosed. Nonetheless, it is likely that the device will be offered somewhere around the $200 mark and could be launched by the end of January. In the meantime, here is a clip of the Redmi Note 4:
