The Nintendo Switch is just a couple of months away from hitting the shelves and since it was announced in October 2016, would-be buyers of the hybrid console are betting on what will its price tag be. Reports suggest that the console will be tagged at a price that is quite easy in the pocket making it a strong contender in the game platform arena.
The console will be priced at 25,000 yen ($214), according to Japan-based publication Nikkei as cited by Uber Gizmo. It is estimated to be offered at around $250 after taxes and other government fees are implemented once it sets foot on Western shores.
This is still affordable as compared to the current consoles in the market. Such price seems to fit in the bag as it was reported in 2016 that the Canadian arm of Toys R Us hinted that the soon to be released console will be sold at around CAD $330, which is only a hairline of a difference from the aforementioned $250 mark when converted. These rough estimates should be taken with a pinch of salt in the meantime as Nintendo is slated to spill the beans about the Switch on Jan. 13.
Meanwhile, the Switch is a highly versatile gaming equipment that can be played either at home or on the go. In addition, the Switch will be having VR attributes not to mention that the main console is expected to boast touchscreen capabilities as it was suggested in the filed patent, Daily Mail has learned.
Several titles are now confirmed to be heading the Switch apart from the much-anticipated chapter in the "Legend of Zelda" series dubbed as "Breath of the Wild." The games include Ubisoft's "Just Dance 2017," "Dragon Quest 11," "Yooka-Laylee," "Project Sonic 2017," and an indie title by the name of "Seasons of Heaven."
