"Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" fans, rejoice. With only one episode left before the medical drama ends, SBS has rewarded the entire cast and staff members with a paid vacation trip.
"Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" posted strong viewership ratings ever since it premiered on Nov. 07, 2016. The 19th episode of the SBS drama, which aired on Jan. 10, Tuesday, recorded a national TV rating of 30.1 percent, ruling over KBS 2TV's "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" and MBC TV's "Night Light."
To celebrate the drama's success, the cast and crew members are slated to travel to Cebu, Philippines on Jan. 20, a source from the SBS drama told Korean newsoutlet OSEN, as cited by Soompi. They will stay in the Queen City of the South for four days and three nights.
However, lead stars Han Suk Kyu and Seo Hyun Jin will not be able to attend the upcoming celebratory trip due to their personal schedules. Nonetheless, the rest of the cast members have already confirmed that they will go on the said trip.
Directed by Yoo In Shik, the Monday-Tuesday medical series captured the heart of many viewers due to its close resemblance with the issues the society face today. Many also praised the show's strong storyline and its romantic, tense and hilarious moments.
"Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim" follows a top surgeon, Boo Yong Joo (Han), who gave up his promising career in Seoul after a traumatic incident. He then changed his name to Kim Sa-Bu and worked at a small hospital in Gangwon Province.
"Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim," which also stars Yoo Yeon Seok, Choi Jin Ho, Jin Kyung, Kim Hong Fa, and Kim Min Jae, is slated to air its final episode on Jan. 16 at 10:00 PM (KST). The following day, the SBS drama will air a special episode penned by screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung, according to Korean newsoutlet Sports DongA.
