3. The new season is darker and bigger than the initial run.

"Season 2 is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes," director and executive producer Shawn Levy told Vanity Fair at the annual BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party on Jan. 7, Saturday. "The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers, has grown. That's all I'm going to say!"

Levy added that Season 2 is also bigger in terms of the cast. Viewers could expect to see the same magical storytelling and the story still based on the core characters that was seen in Season 1.

New characters include 13-year-old girl Max (Sadie Sink), Max's stepbrother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and mysterious Roman (Linnea Berthelsen).
