HMD, which now owns the Nokia brand, unveiled Nokia 6 last week and announced that the phone is going to be sold through flash sale beginning Jan. 19 in China. But even before that, Chinese Nokia fans have already submitted over 250,000 registrations in just 24 hours.

The huge interest from the public on midrange Nokia 6 is a significant milestone in the revival of the Nokia brand, according to Playful DroidIt also signifies that Nokia die-hard fans still exist even with the former death of the brand.

Priced at only $246, Nokia 6 has nothing new to offer when compared to other mid-range smartphones. However, it still rocks some impressive specs in its price range like a 5.5-inch full-HD display, a 2.5D gorilla glass, a QUALCOMM snapdragon 439 chip, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.

The phone is a dual-SIM phone and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat under the support of a 3000mAh non-removable battery. As for the design, Nokia 6 is fabricated using 6000 series aluminum and sports an embedded fingerprint scanner.

The rear camera features a f/2.0 aperture, 16-megapixels, phase detection, a dual-tone flash, and autofocus while the front one comes with 8-megapixels. Other notable features include dual amplifiers for louder sound and Dolby Atmos tech.

HMD is expected to announce and launch more phones in February at MWC 2017, according to Gadgets 360The company has already begun sending media invites for the event, and mobile analysts believe that this is a sign that more Nokia-branded handsets are on the way.

Based on one of the invites, the said Nokia event will take place in Barcelona on Feb. 26 at 4:30 p.m. local time (9 p.m. IST). This corresponds with the earlier announcement the company had made on Facebook, teasing Nokia fans for the just unveiled Nokia 6 together with upcoming Feb. 26 announcements.

Even though the invite fails to specify anything about the rumored devices, the Nokia community expects HMD to unveil more than one Android device. Speculations point out that there may be up to 7 Nokia devices being released this year.
