Capcom has released a brand new trailer for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." Titled "Welcome Home," the video highlights the horrors awaiting players in the Baker family mansion instead of focusing on gameplay mechanics or characters.
The video trailer showcases areas of danger and horrific sections of the house. Mannequins can be seen in the shadows and a dining table is shown but instead of food there are body parts. This further implies that the Baker family members are brutal cannibals, Game Spot reported.
Cannibalism was shown in previous trailers as well and gamers who experienced the demo also had a unique severed finger as an item for the player to keep. The game's main character, Ethan, has also been shown to be invited to the Baker dining table, indicating the family intends to kill and devour him.
The dining table shown in the trailer has been shown in a gameplay demo by Capcom. During one sequence Jack Baker is shown attacking the player with an axe. In one sequence Jack manages to swing down on the table, shattering it into pieces. The hand shown in the "Welcome Home" trailer can also be spotted in this gameplay footage, also seen on the dining table.
A sneak peek into the horrors of the Baker family mansion is not the only new detail released from Capcom. The developers have also revealed a special pre-order bonus, Playstation Lifestyle reported. This pre-order bonus will be available for pre-orders made digitally on PS4 or Xbox One or physically at any GameStop retail branches.
Gamers who pre-order digitally on Xbox Live will get a code to download the 2012 film "Resident Evil: Retribution." However, those who pre-order on the Playstation Network will get a bundle which includes all of the current "Resident Evil" movies, excluding the upcoming "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter."
"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" releases on Jan. 27. The official gameplay trailer can be viewed below:
