Fairy Tail chapter 517 will continue to focus on Erza's showdown with her mother and Spriggan 12 mage Irene Belserion, who has possessed the body of Fairy Tail's little dragon slayer Wendy.
Despite learning the circumstances around her birth from Irene, Erza still decided to take on her mother who seemed no regret abandoning her in Rosemary Village.
With the help of Wendy's enchantment magic, Erza landed a critical strike on Irene. Unfortunately, the Spriggan 12 mage was able to understand the nature of her enchantment magic, allowing her to possess the body of another Dragon Slayer.
After years of wait, Irene finally realized her dream of regaining a human body. Irene was reborn in the body of Wendy. She has become Wendy Belserion.

-Chapter 517 opens with typical Hiro Mashima's cover. His rendition of Wendy Belserion, which is basically Wendy wearing Irene's clothing.
-The next page shows a half-body shot of Wendy sporting a sinister smile. She's now Wendy Belserion.
-Irene notices that Wendy sustained injuries (on the left femur and wounds all over her body) in her previous fights. Still, there's nothing that worries Irene too much because she can move, completely controlling Wendy's body. Besides, she feels an immense power within Wendy and is very much excited to use the Dragon Slayer's untapped potential.
-Ever an opportunist, Irene attacks Erza without any thought of her daughter striking back. She knows that as long as she is in possession of Wendy's body, Erza will do nothing but to defend herself.
-After toying around Erza, Wendy Belserion finally decides to end things once and for all, and that means killing her only daughter. However, all of a sudden, Wendy regains her senses by stabbing herself in the belly.
-A depleted Wendy tells Erza to finish off Irene, which she gladly obliges. Erza equips another armor with intention of ending her score with Irene. Irene, on the other hand, was very surprised to learn that Wendy was able to dispel her enchantment. The next chapter will probably provide the conclusion to this showdown.
