A lot of people may have lost their faith in humanity but a mixed martial arts fighter in New York proved there are still people who will lend a hand for people in need. Pavel Fesyuk dropped everything he was doing to help a man who was apparently choking to death.
Fesyuk, who works for their family-owned business Town and Country Pest Solutions, was on his way to a pest control appointment when he saw a motorist who seemed to be in distress, Fox News reported. As Fesyuk tried to help the man, the company van dashcam filmed the entire incident.
Fesyuk motioned of patting the motorist on his back but did not help the man who was still struggling from breathing with something stuck in his throat. He then performed the Heimlich manuever twice, although it looked a bit difficult with the man looking a bit larger than him, which did the trick as the blockage got out of the victim's mouth.
The internet hero said that what he did was a Gable Grip, a usual grappling technique used in his MMA matches. However, he said that the incident happened so fast he did not even get the name of the man he helped.
Apart from being an MMA fighter, Fesyuk has been a part of hit television show "American Ninja Warrior" where he appeared for two season, CBS News reported. He reached the Pittsburgh finals of Season 8 but was eliminated in Round 2 when he failed to clear a stage. With his stint at the show, Fesyuk earned a small following with his Facebook page "Team Fesyuk" garnered almost 500 likes.
People lauded Fesyuk for rescuing the motorist, even calling him a hero. But he dismissed the hero tag by saying it only took him 30 seconds of his day and he was just helping somebody out.
