It was last March 2016 when the South Korean multinational conglomerate released their 2016 smartphone flagship Samsung Galaxy S7. Given that the Mobile World Congress (MWC) is only a month away, recent reports claim that the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to be available on April 17.
It is said that Samsung Galaxy S8 was supposed to be released two to four weeks after the MWC event, as this was the usual routine of the giant tech company. However, this year would be different as the company is pushing back the release of its Samsung Galaxy S8 in the mid of April, Express UK reported.
The same publication also noted the possible reason why Samsung decided to delay the release of their 2017 smartphone flagship. It is said that the company do not want to repeat the same mistake it did in rushing the release of the S7, which resulted to more than 2 million recall of the said device due to overheating issues.
Another rumor also noted that Samsung might not launch the Samsung Galaxy S8 at MWC in Barcelona. It can be remembered that the company usually launches its latest smartphone flagships at MWC event, which is why gadget enthusiasts found it unusual for Samsung to not launch the S8 in Barcelona. Despite of that, speculations are loud that the company will launch its newest flagship in New York.
On the other hand, although there is still no confirmation when it comes to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8, a post on GSM Arena hints that the might be equipped with 5.7" display and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830. In addition, the smartphone may also likely sport a dual 12MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, 8GB of RAM and could be powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery.
In regards to the price, it is said that Samsung Galaxy S8 could cost $850.
