NetherRealm Studios may have given out the main villain for "Injustice 2" as a leaked screenshot shows a pre-order deal that would allow customers to play as Darkseid. The villain could be the main antagonist.
Darkseid is known to be one of the strongest villains in the DC universe. He is bent on taking the whole universe and destroying free will. The Justice League has repeatedly battled Darkseid in the comics and his inclusion as the main villain in the game would not be surprising.
An order listing on the PlayStation Store states that the "Injustice 2" pre-orders will include Darkseid as a playable character at launch, WWG has learned. The digital pre-order costs $60 in total and also includes the Pre-Order Theme.
Unfortunately, the listing has already been pulled down. Neither Sony nor NetherRealms have released statements regarding the incident. The fact that they did not deny the listing could mean that it is indeed true.
NetherRealm also released teasers for the game. The "Injustice 2" developers are also revealing something next week, Game Rant reported. It may be a new roster of characters or a new game mode.
"Injustice 2" would continue the story of its predecessor where Superman has gone rogue. It follows the "Injustice" story arc in the comics.
Confirmed characters in the game include Gorilla Grodd, Deadshot, Blue Beetle, the Flash, Aquaman and Batman. More may be revealed in the near future and the unveiling next week may have something to do with the new characters as well.
"Watchmen" characters have been teased by NetherRealm as well. Some "Mortal Kombat" characters may also appear if the earlier rumors appear to be true. Surprise characters are not something new in the franchise.
"Injustice 2" will be rolled out on May 16 with some of the surprise guest characters. The game will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players.
