New details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" details revealed new game features and Riku and King Mickey to rescue Aqua in the sequel.
It seems that "Kingdom Hearts" characters Riku and King Mickey will have a larger role in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as it was revealed in the ending scene in "Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage" revealed that Aqua sacrificed herself to save Riku and close the door to Kingdom Hearts.
Riku along with King Mickey will head on a journey find to find a battle-scarred Keyblade wielder, who will help them in the coming Keyblade War against Master Xehanort and his new Organization XIII and perhaps this Keyblade wielder is Aqua.
In addition, both characters will have a new look in "Kingdom Hearts 3" as Nomura told Dengeki Online (via KH13) that Riku's outfit has been completed and it is based from the Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] 3rd anniversary artwork from July of 2016.
Sora, Donald and Goofy will be heading to new Disney Worlds in search for the Seven Guardians of Light and it is rumored that these guardian will be new characters that have not been introduced in the "Kingdom Hearts" game franchise.
In other news, game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed new game features for "Kingdom Hearts 3" as the sequel will have a character customization similar to Aqua in "Kingdom Heart HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue".
However, Nomura stated that he is still unsure if the character customization feature will be incorporated in "Kingdom Hearts 3" in time, explaining that they have a lot of priorities ahead of them soon, GamingBolt reported.
Square Enix will be reworking all of the models in "Kingdom Hearts 3" and assured gaming fans that they are progressing forward, as well as the timing for the announcement of new game details. The developers also teased that gamers could expect a "PS4 quality" made title in "Kingdom Hearts 3".
As for the lighting, Square Enix wanted to present it without hurting the atmosphere, and they are receiving guidance from Visual Works and experimenting through trial and error.
There were trial and errors about the "Situation Command" and how to display them so it will not look like a simple QTE, etc. "Situation Commands" are an evolution of "Kingdom Hearts 2's" Reaction Commands and would play a integral part in "Kingdom Hearts 3".
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is speculated to be release on 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
